Finding pleasure in simple pursuits

funny pictures of cats with captions

This is made slightly more difficult because I think I may be getting a cold. Sore throat and buzzy ears. I think today's simple pursuit will be ice cream and hot tea. Not together, mind you. 'Cause that would be gross. But I'd love other suggestions for simple sick-day remedies (except for chicken noodle soup. I hate chicken noodle soup. Unless I've been vomiting, because chicken noodle soup tastes the same coming up as going down, so I don't mind eating it.)

  1. Put some lemon juice, honey and whiskey in that tea - helps amazingly with sore throats and achiness and generally icky feelings one gets with colds. If you're like me and don't drink, you can leave out the whiskey lol

    Hope you feel better :)

  2. Stay away from ice cream, the milk makes you way way more productive phlegmatically speaking.

Um. I quite like biscuits and self-indulgence when I am sick. Oh, spicy food can clear out the airways, that is always good to try.

  3. I think there's a bug going around. Kenneth has a sore throat, headache and sore muscles.

    Get better soon!

And yes to lots of garlic and chili.

  4. That cat is not happy.

It is distressed because it can't get the string.

    LOL.

  5. I think curling up with a cup of hot tea, a heating pad for the achiness and a good book. I love green tea with antioxidants...it might be psychosomatic, but it always makes me feel better.

Feel better soon!! My laptop is working again, so we need to meet up on skype...

  6. Curl up on the sofa with afore-mentioned hot drinks and nice book. It'll go if you are good. It's going all around. My turn next in our house

Sorry if I'm a bit late with the remedies. Do a vitamin c flush. That means, buy powdered vitamin c, dissolve a tsp in water and drink one every 15 minutes until you "flush" if you know what I mean. Gets rid of lots of ails, congestion, yeast infections, yada yada, drains lymphs etc, and you cannot o.d. on vit. c, since you just pee the excess out.

Also good is hot elderflower with lemon, raw honey and if sore throat, a dash of cayenne pepper.

    Get well!
